Way to track all changes made in Epicor 9

The solution manager will show you any changes and doesn't require the
developer to log or otherwise record them. If it's in the system, it will
show up.

All:
I am looking for a way/tool that would allow us to get from our Epicor 9.05.607A system a listing of all changes made to our system (i.e. BPM, BAQ, report, screen change, patch application, etc.). This is for a Sox requirement. I need to have a way to get a report out of Epicor or an associated tool for a period of time that will list all the changes made to Epicor so management can review and the auditors can audit. Does anyone have/use such a tool? I would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks. I think the solutions manager requires you use it to install changes also. What if you don't use solutions manager to install something? And we have found that solution manager is kind a buggy and doesn't work all the time. Do you use it and does it work consistently?

It works fairly well adn you don't have to install anything but it should
give you a list of all the BOM's, BAM's Customizatins Custom Report etc.

I trust solution manager about as far as I can throw the server it sits on.

However Jose is correct in that it is very useful for listing all the different customizations, report data definitions, BAQs, BPMs, etc. and that is what you seemed to be looking for.

But using it to package them up and install into another environment is ugly. It can work but isn't consistent. Also, it freaks will long file names for some reason.

I'll second what the others have said. I almost never actually use it to
import/export anything.

However, I use it all the time for what you're describing. I've never seen
it fail to list something in any system I've used it on.

Ron, what is being suggested doesn't require installing solutions the
way you're thinking of. Instead, create a new solution in solution
manager and click save immediately. Then the many tabs at the bottom of
the screen will show all your existing customizations, reports etc -
regardless of how they got created. You don't actually need to build or
install a solution, just copy/paste the info from those tabs.

Brian.

I'll second what the others have said. I almost never actually use it to
import/export anything.

However, I use it all the time for what you're describing. I've never
seen it fail to list something in any system I've used it on.

Ok, thanks. We have found the same, using it for importing/exporting is questionable. We have looked at it but it does not seem to be listing ALL changes in our system. Is it the kind go thing that allows the developer to input change information and then you can track it. Or can it detect and report ALL changes regardless of information a developer has entered?

We are in a small shop, so the developer is also installs in to production. So the audit question is how do I make sure the developer does not put something in without others knowing it? I looking for a tool/way that will identify all changes in the system so an auditor can generate a comprehensive list of all changes made to a system over a period of time that does not rely on human information input.
