WE MADE IT! and Question

Congratulations on a long weekend, with success.
I don't know if you did the Dump and Load in your conversion process, but it can significantly shrink the size of your database if you've been running for a few years. Vantage can prepare a Dump and Load kit for you, if needed. You still might want to do the extents, however, but the D&L could buy you some more time (and performance).

Subject: [Vantage] WE MADE IT!!!! and Question

We made the conversion to 5.0 this weekend, and other
that a few minor issues this morning, 5 IS ALIVE!!!!!

Now for a question, Has anyone added extents to their
database, because of the 2 GB limit? I found a document
on the ERANET site that talks about it, and it seems pretty
straight forward. After conversion to 4 and 5, our D1 file
is now 1.83 GB, and I would like to add the extents before
we hit the 2 GB size. If anyone has done this and could let me
know how it was done, anything special that had to be done,
or any other pointers, I would appreciate it.

Wow, that's right up on the limit. How big was it before the conversion?

Someone else (Troy?) talked about doing a dump & load procedure per
Epicor's instructions. Besides shrinking the DB file, it's supposed to be
good for performance. Sort like an internal "defrag" in the DB file
contents, I guess.
