Thanks Manasa for answwering that.

Also, uning the check box to Pull assembly will add too much to the job.
So I don't think we want to go there. But I do thank you, we learned a
lot from our conversation.

I have a problem that I can't figure out.

I have been given a task to see what products that we manufacture can we produce without purchasing any material. Basically, the reverse function of the Availibility Report.

Any Ideas?
Are you wanting to determine a list of products you that could choose to make make with the current material inventory ("No sales orders today, what do you want to make?") or are you wanting to convert the maximum amount of the current material inventory into finished goods?

The second option could get much more complicated because there are so many additional factors. Are there operational constraints, like lot sizes? Are there differences in labor rates or times? If it is a cash flow situation, the most profitable item may not be the quickest seller.

Give the group a little more information about what you are wanting to do. If you want to discuss this offline, feel free to contact me.

Basically, he has inventory, from his inventory he wants to run a report
that will tell him what he can make. What finished assemblies can he
make.

Does anyone have a tool like this already made? Is there an existing
report like this in E9?

Yes we have. But the report gives us all the parts. If I have a higher assembly in stock that will produce our products, I don't want to have the sub-assembly show up. In addition, the part numbers are all intermixed and not giving you the total quantity needed if the parts are used multiple times. So we need to identify those parts and assemblies only we have or need.

I agree, it's not a clean cut report, but how about the "Exceptions
Only" check box?

In any rate, we are about to have a major customization done to the
Planner Workbench to resolve the similar issues we are having.
