What event causes Forecast quantity consumed to update?

I entered a Forecast for May, June, Sept and Dec. I entered a sales order to ship in June. No change in the forecast. How and when does the quantity consumed get updated? I ran MRP and there was no change - the quantity consumed is still zero.

How many days in/out are in your forecast window?

Thanks - it was zero. set them both to 15 and am testing now. Do I have to run MRP for the consumed quantities to update?
