What is the best way to track ECO changes within WO's 9.05.702a

In the past we have made changes to parts and would have to track them manually throughout the shop. It was asked by an Engineer if Epicor has a feature that keeps track of this, so we wouldn’t have to track the WO manually.

Example:
Part1 is manufactured at Rev01
Part2 is manufactured at Rev02
Part3 is purchased
Part3 goes into Part2, and Part2 goes into Part1
Part3 is changing to Part4, Part2 and Part1 are staying the same

Is there a feature within Epicor (ECO?) that will help us track Part2 & Part1 within the system, so that we do not have to do it manually? We would like to visually know that Part2 & Part1 contain Part4.

I hope that I have explained this in a way that is understandable.

Thanks,
Melissa

And the “where used” function is not enough because you want to see the job
level?

Brad

Brad,

That is correct. We would like to visually see this at the job level. I don’t know if this is possible, just thought I would reach out and ask.

Melissa

You should be able to write a query/report to mimic the where used function
for jobs materials.

Brad

This doesnt help you?

We might be able to use the Part where Used, but we were hoping to make it visual for the workers on the floor that don’t have access to certain Epicor screens. Thank you for the suggestions.

Thanks,
Melissa

We do a lot with our JobPickList which was merge with our JobTraveler…
i would put come type of checkbox on Part Entry on Part4, and when Part 4 is listed on my Job Picklist, I would bold, Italicize and shadow the PN. What do you do now to notify them?

Miguel,

Thank you, I will look into that. This would save a lot of people from having to track it manually. Currently we don’t notify the people on the floor, usually someone in engineering will follow the old WO and new WO out on the floor to verify everything is being processed correctly.

Thanks,
Melissa
