When does transaction take place, client or server time?

Thanks for all the responses but the situation is multi-company in one database, German on Euros, USA on Dollars and consolidation. So it looks like we have to be aware of transactions occuring on the wrong day but I believe only at month-end, on a Sunday when no one works. So it's not a problem for us.

But we have another company with the same situation but requires client-time for some sort of daily analysis. I feel sorry for them.

Epicor 9.05.700c hosted in San Diego but a future client will be in Germany. When will a client transaction occur, client-time or server-time? What if on Citrix? (We want client-time in both cases for books to close properly.)

You can configure an Appserver for each timezone all pointing to the same DB if required.

It uses the server time, but if this is a hosted solution, then I would
assume only one company would be using that instance on that one server, so
I would recommend setting the server up to use the same time as the clients
who are connecting.

Epicor 9.05.700c hosted in San Diego but a future client will be in Germany.
When will a client transaction occur, client-time or server-time? What if on
Citrix? (We want client-time in both cases for books to close properly.)
