Where do Calc_ field come from in Crystal Reports

Correction: you create a new report style using a copy of the form (which you copy into mfgsys803/server/reports/CustomReports), using your new report data definition and new form. Presumably you're going to want to display the additional field(s) on the report so you'll need to make a copy of the report form.

1. Those Calc fields are created by the server-side program that generates the report. You can't do anything with them.

2. The missing fields you can add through Report Data Definition manager. Basically you create a duplicate of the system report data definition, add the excluded field(s) to be included (there's a tab for this), and then create a new report style using the same form, but a different report data definition.

Subject: [Vantage] Where do Calc_ field come from in Crystal Reports

I am trying to make some changes to the standard quote form and have 2 questions:

1. Where do the Calc_ fields come from? In the quoteqty table there is a Calc_NetPrice that does not show in the data dictionary. Since it isn't a formula field I am not sure how to see the calculation.

2. Is there a way to add the fields that don't appear in the field explorer? Again in the quoteqty table there is a MaterialMarkUp field that I need to use but it doesn't show in the Field Explorer window.

I went to a Crystal class many years ago when I was just learning the basics...must be time to go through it again.

Have a great weekend...thanks.

Mark
