If you REALLY don't care about the cost, I would suggest a server dedicated
to Vantage alone.
If you can only deal with the drives at this point, mirroring (RAID1?) will
prevent loss due to a drive failure. If you add striping (RAID0?) to this,
it will improve performance. Striping will not protect you from a drive
failure. If you still have money after this, you can also add a separate
controller for each side of the mirror.
Just remember that Progress does not support RAID5. Actually, Progress can't
see what drive arrangement you are using, but the way RAID5 works exposes a
potential to corrupt your database in certain circumstances.
