Wildcards in Report Builder

Thanks for the help. I was trying to use the "=" operand, and it
doesn't work with that. Once I used "Matches," everything worked
fine.

Is there a way to use wildcards in Report Builder filters? I am

Hi Ryan,

try using the field name and for criterea use the asterick in front or behind the key word and in quotes, such as '*part'. you may also have to use matches instead of equals. hope this helps.

There is a guide!! Epicor are unable to provide us with a decent guide for
the Product Configurator or for the new Business Intelligence (CorVue). I
have not sought, nor been offered a guide for report builder by our Epicor
implementation resistance, sorry I meant assistance. Where can we locate
this Report Builders Users Guide? Is it on the Progress site?

If you received Progress manuals in your package, the report builder,
results and tutorial books should be with it. Some radical before my time
tossed them, so I purchased a new set for less than $100!!

Go to the following web address:

http://www.progress.com/v9/documentation/index.htm

and select DynaWeb for Progress Version 9.1D (first item in the list). You
will have to drill down a couple of layers to get to the Report Builder
docs, but its all searchable. The only problem with this environment is
that if anything has changed between the latest version and the version you
are running, you may get the wrong info. Fortunately, RB doesn't change
significantly between releases (or versions, for that matter) so you should
be okay.

Go to the following web address:

and select DynaWeb for Progress Version 9.1D (first item in the list).
You
will have to drill down a couple of layers to get to the Report Builder
docs, but its all searchable. The only problem with this environment is
that if anything has changed between the latest version and the version
you
are running, you may get the wrong info. Fortunately, RB doesn't change
significantly between releases (or versions, for that matter) so you
should
be okay.

Thanks Lydia, Epicor's current policy is not to supply any manuals "as
they
are soon out of date and no one reads them anyway" and they point you to
their tutorial or the Vantage help. I will take this up with Epicor if

If you received Progress manuals in your package, the report builder,
results and tutorial books should be with it. Some radical before my
time
tossed them, so I purchased a new set for less than $100!!
