Could one of you please contact me off line? I have a Win200 Server, with
mostly Win98 clients and two WinXP clients. I am trying to map a drive on a
Win98 client from a WinXP machine. Network neighborhood doesn't show the
Win98 clients, only the server and the other WinXP machine. My personal
machine which runs Win98 shows them all, sort of.
But, they are on different levels of the network neighborhood. The Win98
clients are all clustered together and the others are listed separately
under the heading of "Entire Network - DNS - machine names". DNS is the
name of the domain. The vantage server and the two XP machines are listed
by name under DNS.
I didn't set this up so I am really in the dark. I am guessing it has
something to do with having the domain name server set up incorrectly and/or
the workgroup, but I really don't know what I am talking about. I need to
map to the application on the Win98 client for right now. Next month I have
to move the app to another Win2000 server and set it up so it plays nice
with the vantage server.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
