Converted from Win 2000 to XP while 5.1 was installed. Only problems noted
are print preview problems. This is wording of my call to Vantage:
Shortly after converting to Windows XP a print preview request
in any Vantage module produces a Warning "**All or part of Button
Close-Btn is being placed outside of Dialog-Box Dialog-1 by
setting Row. (5905)" After clicking OK several times it produces
a like message except setting Col. You can continue clicking
to get out.
Word I get from Vantage:
Officially, Windows XP has not been approved by Progress, so technically, we
do not support it. However, we are aware of other users who have had similar
problems. They are usually resolved by changing the desktop settings to a
small font. You may have to experiment a bit, but we are fairly sure it is
the settings of the workstation that are causing this error.
I will also email a related page of instructions for resolving this issue on
W95 and W98 which may give you additional ideas.
So far I'm just living with the problem.
