Windows 2000

Thanks for your help, removing the computer from the domain did the trick.
I told Jim to add Sys Admin to his business card. It looks nice to the
Designer and Engineer titles he has acquired over the years. He is one of
those salesmen that thinks he can do anything, just ask him.

One of my salesmen decided to transfer some files from his company laptop to
his home computer. He changed the network settings on his laptop from a
domain to a workgroup. When the system boots it only asks for a password
and a user name. He has some network access, Vantage works, email works, IE
does not, network neighborhood shows him only. When I go to his network ID
to join the domain I get the following error message:

The credentials supplied conflict with an existing set.

Where do I go from here?

Which windoze is it running? If it's 95 or 98, try deleting all the *.PWL
files in \Windows.

If he used the same user name and password to access resource it
works, but because he is not part of the domain he is really a
different user. You need to disconnect him from all connections to
the server before trying to reconnect. The above article will fill
you in.

If you go to your PDC and under Server Manager remove his computer from the
domain you should be able to readd him from his computer.
