Windows 7 and Vantage6.1

In Windows 7 you have two options:

1. Control Panel / Power Options, select High Performance.

2. Control Panel / Network and Sharing Center, click on "Change Adapter Settings", right click on "Local Area Connection" and select Properties, click on Configure, select Power Management tab and uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

Windows Operating systems tend to turn off any maps not in use, but they should reestablish once called.
XP will also show red X.
Look at your setting for your network card and make sure there isn't a power setting that turns off the network card when not in use. Letting the network card sleep or be turned off has always been a source of connection problems.
Sorry I don't have a Windows 7 computer in front of me to give you the steps.

I have a user on Windows7 that keeps loosing connectivity to Vantage mapped drive. She clicks on Vantage and it doesn't work. We go to Windows Explorer and the V drive has red x, click on drive seems to reestablish connection. Then when user clicks on Vantage icon she is connected to Vantage. I suspect problem is with temporary disconnect of mapped drive for some unknown reason. Does anyone have suggestions?

Thanks,
Warren
