Windows XP Workstation problem

We had problems that I believe are related to what you are seeing. Ours
were display errors while printing reports.

This has to do with the button size setting of Windows XP.

To fix this, right-click on the desktop and select "Properties." Choose the
"Appearance" tab and click the "Advanced" button.

Select "Caption Buttons" from the "Item" drop-down menu.

Change the size from 25 (default) to 18 (Windows Classic setting).

See if that will help... It is odd, half of our XP workstations are fine,
and the other half need this fix - identical setups on all of them.

Subject: [Vantage] Windows XP Workstation problem

I am looking for some help with some windows XP Professional
workstations that we just recently received. In Vantage
everything runs great, except when the users get into a large
list of items (PO Tracker, Invoice Tracker, etc) and try to
click in the scroll bar area to move down the page.

When they do that, a error pops up and kicks them out of Vantage.
It basically says something about can't get next record. Anyone
have any ideas? We are on Vantage 5.0.329 and Progress 9.1A.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Tim,
I have about 25 workstations running XP pro. We are on 5.0.350.
We have no issues like you refer to. My first thought would be to bring
your release up to .350 from .329 and see if that makes a difference. We
were never on the .329 patch long enough for anything like that to crop up.

Tim:

Also make certain you are on SP1 of Windows XP; although, I doubt SP1 on
Windows XP would resolve this since it sounds like a Progress or Vantage
problem, but it never hurts to check for it and have it installed. SP1 is
pretty well proven now and fixes a large quantity of issues in XP.

Besides that, I agree with Shirley, bring Vantage to the latest revision
available and see if that resolves your issue.
