WIP Capture without Posting to GL

WIP/COGS Capture… E10.6x

What is the purpose of running the capture without posting. Is there a report or something that would show me the result if I had posted. I don’t see anything.

I believe you are looking for the Inventory/WIP Reconciliation report, this will go through the COS/WIP posting rules and show the transactions prior to capture

Another reason to run the Capture without posting to the GL would be to handle open loads before go live. As you’re loading qty adjustments, cost adjustments, open jobs etc, you don’t want the financial impact to hit the GL but you want them flagged as posted to the GL. You can accomplish this by opening up the Capture COS/WIP screen, then turning off the inventory interface in company config, running the capture and after it completed, turning interface back on.

Another reason I can think to run the Capture WIP/COS without posting, would be to test that the posting engine can process everything properly.

If you had a bad GL Control that would be used during posting, maybe running the process without posting enabled, still goes through all the mechinations, but doesn’t post.
