After many phone calls with Epicor support they finally provided us with a fix program where we go in and key in all the part transactions where the part description exceeded 1,000 characters which then truncates down the description. Prior to 9.05 we didn't have any problems with the part description length. We currently have over 200+ part numbers with description exceeding 1,000 characters with the largest at 3,628 characters. Has anyone else ran into this problem? If yes what are some solutions to consider other than just shorten the part description down to less than 1,000 characters. The reason our part description is so long is that it includes the machine specs. Your feedback and advice will be greatly appreciated. Thank-you.

Have you looked at using an attachment for the specs for the part. Might have to have some custom code to link this to the sales order??

Good Evening Everyone!

We are currently on Epicor version #9.05.700A.

When we upgraded from 9.04 to 9.05 in May 2012 we ran into a problem with invoicing and with the WIP/COS capture due to our part descriptions being too long. Thank-you.
