WIP to Review Journal (COGS Out of Balance) Won't Post

So COS /WIP Capture is going to Review Journal cause a transaction is out of balance. We have ran the WIP Recon Report and Narrowed it down (The out of balance amount is 11.40)

With the Help of the report we found the transaction that doesn’t balance. This little guy at the top doesn’t have a “friend” in the COS Side

Looking at that invoice it seems that when they were posting it someone “accidentally” chose a random CURRENCY FOREIGN GAIN GL Account instead of the COS ,ODC Account

No this isn’t a foreign invoice, no this isn’t a different currency payment it appears someone actually chose this because the invoice “wasn’t posting” so they Eeny, meeny, miny, moe picked an account to balance it

To the surprise of absolutely no one, CURRENCY FOREIGN GAIN GL Account isn’t a part of the WIP Capture posting rules… cause well… why would it be

So now WIP Won’t post… I am not sure how the BLEEEEP to fix this. The invoice has also already been paid and it is tied to a bunch of Project Job Charges to boot.

#HALP (I need an adult… have I mentioned before how much I don’t like the GL?)

Can they do a manual post to move it from that account to the correct account? And then run the report to see?

Not in live of course.

Yes, a manual journal entry that has 001-000-8400-80 on one side and whatever the correct account should be on the other side for $11.40.

There might be some more accounts that need to be hit because it has already been paid, but that should be a question for accounting. :man_shrugging:

I shall try this in Not Live!

Oh, you put it all in the picture. The other account is 001-000-6003-00

We had a problem like this a few months ago where one part class didn’t have segment values mapped for returns and cost of returns. Forget which area it was…eiher GL control code or type.

This can be corrected within the Review Journal…

find your error by clicking on Journal Entry

go to Error Log
image

go to Lines > Detail
for this instance find JE 44785 line 2

then…
in the GL Account drop down list, and choose the correct GL or you can type it in.

Click Save
then go to actions and “Revalidate”

Epicor will do its thing and if everything is good and it comes back with no errors
go back to Actions then “Journal Entry Confirmation” and that should now post.

@josecgomez @JT_Titan is correct. You can just fix the account or an amount in the review journal revalidate and then send it on its way.
