Worth the pain and suffering?

Dick, you might as well treat this as a new implementation. So many things have changed since 6.1 that it almost doesn't matter what new functionality has been added, what does matter is what your business requires. You need to view this as a requirements analysis, what does your business need now and, in the next several years, and see what gaps you have. Perhaps E9 is right for you, maybe not depending on your requirements
Â
There have been many threads on here about this, but as an overview, here are some major changes
Â
Supplier Managed Inventory - Hold as a separate inventory/cost until consumed
Customer Managed Inventory - Hold as a separate inventory/cost until consumed
BAQ's -Â GUI Based and a lot more flexible
Solution Manager - Move customizations including Data Definitions, BAQ's, Dashboards, BPMs, between databases
GL Control Types and Control Codes - Lot more flexibility in assigning GL Accounts
GL Transaction types - Multiple segments on GL Accounts, Dynamic segments allow you to add segments on the fly such as Customer ID, Project Number, Part Number, etc
Time Management and Expense Reporting - Labor Reporting has now been broken down to allow expense reporting against jobs/projects and has codes for different report types
Serial/Lot Tracking now allow against lower level components
Â
This is just a sample as there have been many changes added. If you have any specific questions feel free to ask and I will be happy to address them

fellow epicorians,

we have been on vantage 6.1 since 2005 (or something like that)
we tried V8 and found so many problems and bugs and performance
problems that we stayed on 6.1.
6.1 performs good and does most everything we want, but I think
it may be time to jump to the recent version.
can someone please let me know the pros and cons of v9?
we do not have the CRM or product configurator, but have most
everything else.

thanks a bunch
