Xref table in TIE evision - need help to use it in EDI mapping

Hi all,

Nigel helped here as well. I used code to send a log file when the
part is not in the xref file. The file for TIE had to be
specifically formatted, so that took some time. We now have this
working.

Hi,

We are setting up EDI for Vantage and want to use a part xref table to
validate parts (reject EDI in a log file if the part is not in the
xref table).

Has anyone done anything similar and can provide any help?
Thanks,
Karen S
Hi Karen,

We use eVision and are using the XRef files for a specific check.
It's not the part XRef but the theory should be similar. I didn't
create any of this - it was done by an excellent Epicor consultant -
so I hope I can explain it correctly!

* We created an XRef table called "SCAC" to hold the SCAC codes of
haulage companies that our logistics company uses.
* Key1 is the code that is supposed to come in on the EDI document,
and Description holds the corresponding code that we need for Vanatge.
* In the EDI map we created a scratchpad variable called "SCAC" and
pass the incoming EDI segment into it. My understanding is that at
this point eVision spots that there should be an XRef (due to the
same names being used), goes to the XRef table and replaces the
incoming code with the XRef one.
* If there is no XRef for a code then it seems a file called
"MissingSCAC" is created in the Inbound folder - at least, I think
this is what creates it as I can't find anything else that might do
it.
* In eVision we created a sub-workflow called EmailMissingSCACs and
added it to our InboundMaster workflow. This sub-workflow tries to
copy the MissingSCAC file and has an email notification attached
flagged for "On Success". i.e. if the file is successfully copied
then it is also emailed to specific users. No file = no email.

The incoming document does still get processed even if there is no
XRef but at least we're notified about the problem.

Hope this gives you some pointers.

Nigel.
