Y2K Date Divide Point

Hmmm.. Looks like it still may need a restrart. RB at least is not picking it up. When I reformat as nn/dd/yyyy it shows 2068 after closing and restarting RB as well as Vantage. And in Vantage I get an error beause the format can't handle 2068. So if the result is negative I'll add 36,525 (close enough) which will still work but not be needed after the new -yy year kicks in.

Actually, it's referenced from the .VTG file when you start a Vantage
session, so just restarting yours should do the trick.

Anyone know where the date that determines century is located or what the default date is? I am trying to select records in RB based on the age of a part's drawing being over 2 yrs old. I have one part with a date of 01/01/68 that is not working. When I subtract if from today's date it returns a huge negative number so I'm sure it thinks it is 2068 not 1968.

Not sure if I want to change the roll over date but if I knew what it is I could test for it and adjust my test accordingly.

Thanks,

Open Vantge\Db\Vantage.PF with a text editor. Its parameter line looks
something like:

-Mm 1024 -mmax 4000 -Bt 5000 -s 63 -yy 1940 -stsh 31 -inp 12288

The -yy parameter controls where it flips; IIRC the default is 1970. That
was screwing us up on employee birthdates and turning many of them into
2000 dates, so I changed it to 1940. You probably have a -yr4def parameter
in there too. It only affects how dates are displayed on the screen, and
causes some of them to overflow their field so you can't read
them. Removing it fixes that.

Try right-clicking on the date field in question to open the calendar
control - it might show you which century it's in, if there's only a two
digit year on the screen.

Thanks Wayne. It was 1970 so I changed it to 40. Somewhere I had thought it was 1938 but I think that was from the old AS/400 we had. The yr4def was already taken out (as noted in a comment in the file). I suppose this will not take effect until at least a shutdown/restart of Vantage but I can program around it for now.
