Zebra label printer

Greg,

We have had a zebra 105s for approx. 5 years and have had to do very little
to it. We finally had to replace the printhead this summer. It is located
in the shipping dept. and is exposed to a lot of oil and crude from the
manufacturing environment, but still performs. We barcode all packages
either custom work or shelved stock items using a custom app that links to
Vantage, creates an ASCII file and then uses Label matrix's front end to
generate the labels.

Two thumbs up on the printer.

We have been using a Zebra 105SE thermal label printer with some 3rd
party label printing software (non-Vantage) for quite some time. It
prints a very high quality label. Now my Materials Mgr. has inquired
about using the Zebra w/ Vantage. Has anyone out there used this
particular printer w/ Vantage? If so, I 'd appreciate any info you'd
be willing to share.
Thanks,

We are still in implementation, and we have a Zebra 140XiII, but we
have developed an application using Access and ODBC that gets the
information we need out of Vantage and allows our shipping deparment
to add in information at the time of shipment. We are designing our
labels with BarONE and using JetForm Central to merge the data with
the label forms. It has worked quite well in testing, although it is
a complicated process to set up. If you would like more information
e-mail me bstenglein@... or call 218-765-3111.

Hi Bob,

Though I can not answer your question I have a question of my own.
I have been looking at the Zebra line of printers for some time now and have
been extremely hesitant to commit to purchasing one due to the cost. We
currently have a Datamax and it has performed horribly since the day we
bought it.

Would you recommend the Zebra 105se? I know you have said it prints a very
high quality label but has this taken years of tweaking to attain. Any
praise or criticisms will be appreciated.

Thanks

its unfortunate your datamax is not working. We have a datamax XL that has
been working like a champ. We print out all different size labels and have
had no problems. We have had it for over a year now. What model do you have?
