408B bugs list Blank Title 82322

We have given out an instruction sheet explaining to users how to
create a Named Search to get around the "next 100" feature.

Named Search ID = GETALL
Named Search Name = GET ALL
On the "Options" tab select "default" box
"Return all rows" is already selected
Save/Exit & re-search.......now you get all records

We do for some instances add further parameters to the Basic Search
criteria in addition to the getall setup.

We just upgraded to Vantage 408B and now it takes 45 seconds to 2
MINUTES to pull in job details. This process use to take a couple of
seconds. We do this process 50 times a day.

We are on 407 as well and have noticed that Customer Searches in Quote
entry
have been messed up, from discussions with Epicor we determined that if
you
select the option to show all customers it seems to level out. This
however
bites if you 1000000000000000000 customers and only deal with 100 of
them on
a regular bases. We don't really have this issue but I know some of you
probably do.

They are fixing the customer attachments, scheduled for .410. Did a lot
of
complaining about this. It was working in .407 and stopped in .408.
Fixing
it in 9 doesn't help. Epicor should fix 8.03.x issues and any
enhancements
should be in 9, I can accept enhancements not be included in 8.x
releases
but not bug fixes.

We are on 407 as well and have noticed that Customer Searches in Quote
entry
have been messed up, from discussions with Epicor we determined that if
you
select the option to show all customers it seems to level out. This
however
bites if you 1000000000000000000 customers and only deal with 100 of
them on
a regular bases. We don't really have this issue but I know some of you
probably do.

And your 9.04.504B list. We also get some errors thrown in Get Details where
the workstation eventually has to be rebooted. They're working on it.

I am referring to setting up a new job and when we "get details" from a
method, the system hangs for up to 2-3 minutes on average. We contacted
Vantage for support and they recommended some system performance changes
and then the process took 18 MINUTES. We have since reverted back to
our original settings.



Keep in mind that when we were operating on 407 this process to 1-2
seconds.



Any ideas besides switching ERP software?

We are on 407 as well and have noticed that Customer Searches in Quote
entry
have been messed up, from discussions with Epicor we determined that if
you
select the option to show all customers it seems to level out. This
however
bites if you 1000000000000000000 customers and only deal with 100 of
them on
a regular bases. We don't really have this issue but I know some of you
probably do.

They are fixing the customer attachments, scheduled for .410. Did a lot
of
complaining about this. It was working in .407 and stopped in .408.
Fixing
it in 9 doesn't help. Epicor should fix 8.03.x issues and any
enhancements
should be in 9, I can accept enhancements not be included in 8.x
releases
but not bug fixes.

Progress...

I am referring to setting up a new job and when we "get details" from a
method, the system hangs for up to 2-3 minutes on average. We contacted
Vantage for support and they recommended some system performance changes
and then the process took 18 MINUTES. We have since reverted back to
our original settings.

Keep in mind that when we were operating on 407 this process to 1-2
seconds.

Any ideas besides switching ERP software?

They are fixing the customer attachments, scheduled for .410. Did a lot
of
complaining about this. It was working in .407 and stopped in .408.
Fixing
it in 9 doesn't help. Epicor should fix 8.03.x issues and any
enhancements
should be in 9, I can accept enhancements not be included in 8.x
releases
but not bug fixes.

We upgraded from 503B...

We did a little test. We kicked off everybody from the Epicor Server and let
on only one person. I opened the Task Manager on the server and told that
person to start a Get Details. The CPU usage at the client dropped to zero.
On the server, one of the appservers had some CPU but the disc access was
crazy and the memory usage of the same appserver slowly climbed from 99MB to
340MB. Once it hit that size, the command finished - in seven minutes.

It's reproducable from different users at different workstations.
