BAQ for BOM costs?

Hello,

I would like something like the BOM Cost report, but as a BAQ to make it easier to parse in Excel and allow me to easily add extra fields. I’m having trouble conceptualizing how to make a BAQ that summarizes nested information like that.

Any advice? Eventually I want part#, description, avg, standard and last costs, sales price, IUM, and costing method.

This stuff you can get out of the part cost table. However, that just is what it was when you last did the cost rollup. If you want to actually go into the BOM’s and recalculate them, that’s a lot harder.

If it is just the layout of the Epicor provided BOM report, then make a copy of it, and just “fix” the RDL to make it Excel Friendly. See:

I’ve always just made a custom version of the SSRS RDL. Here’s a few notes regarding issues with RDLs destined for Excel. Use Tablix. With only one field per cell. Merging cells is okay, but use it sparingly. If looking for “raw data” avoid Group headers or footers Lineup text boxes. A column break is created at the left and right edges of each text box.
