As long as it’s “free” with SQL Server, I don’t see it ever dying. If MS --or someone-- would make a better report designer it wouldn’t be so bad. It wouldn’t resolve all issues but would make life easier.
Maybe they will after Kinetic moves to another reporting tool.
I’ve been in your shoes as the sole Epicor/IT person. My comment was by no means intended to offend. When I converted Crystal to SSRS at a previous company where I was solo, I had a goal of two conversions a month. Took over a year but I got them done finally and did not always hit the 2/month goal.
Can confirm, PBI paged reports are effectively another SSRS implementation. Which of course opens up the possibility of Epicor implementing native PBI support in the most hilarious way possible!
I hear from users all the time about “how can this not exist out of the box” and this is the one that I always agree with. How is there not an out of the box double stub check?
Agreed. This was one of the things we had to make sure got created prior to go-live. But, its a one time report development… just a lot of tweaking to make sure things line up with the print stock.
I would just print on a piece of normal paper, put one of our printed check stock sheets in front of it and hold it up to the window to make sure things were lining up properly
But completely agree with you. 3-part checks are not uncommon. Would’ve been nice to have a template to start from.
