Classic Sunset Officially at 2026.1

As long as it’s “free” with SQL Server, I don’t see it ever dying. If MS --or someone-- would make a better report designer it wouldn’t be so bad. It wouldn’t resolve all issues but would make life easier.

Maybe they will after Kinetic moves to another reporting tool.

Yes, we do that for some users who share a workstation and are full browser only.

I’ve been in your shoes as the sole Epicor/IT person. My comment was by no means intended to offend. When I converted Crystal to SSRS at a previous company where I was solo, I had a goal of two conversions a month. Took over a year but I got them done finally and did not always hit the 2/month goal.

Also, I believe that PowerBI Paginated reports are basically the same, so RDL lives on in the cloud.

Can confirm, PBI paged reports are effectively another SSRS implementation. Which of course opens up the possibility of Epicor implementing native PBI support in the most hilarious way possible!

Many people gloss over this.

I would love to know how most people are doing this.

Do they have an epicor user for every employee so they can log into MES in the browser?

Are they sharing an epicor username and password?

Single account per shift - logged in by the shift foreman. Each operator has individual code.

What you gonna do with browser, same thing?

Crystal requires the edge agent even to preview from the browser so to me its dead.

They did make it possible though at least.

For what it’s worth, we created an SSRS 3-part check report style. Works fine.

I hear from users all the time about “how can this not exist out of the box” and this is the one that I always agree with. How is there not an out of the box double stub check?

Agreed. This was one of the things we had to make sure got created prior to go-live. But, its a one time report development… just a lot of tweaking to make sure things line up with the print stock.

I would just print on a piece of normal paper, put one of our printed check stock sheets in front of it and hold it up to the window to make sure things were lining up properly

But completely agree with you. 3-part checks are not uncommon. Would’ve been nice to have a template to start from.
