Perhaps another option for your redesign would be to let Epicor tell your app when data changes via CDC which is free.
Perhaps if your cdc push told your webhook the info needed to determine the time sensitivity of the change, it’d be okay not to poll every 5 sec.
For example, if the change info says it’s not needed for immediate queue you’re good to request that change detail in minutes not seconds.
