Anytime you are bringing in data from an external source and there are records that already exist: parts, customers, suppliers, methods, etc.
I’ve used it in many implementations. “Mark, can you refresh the Test instance with parts added or changed from the old system?”

If you’d be interested in another new world the DMT Tool can be used with PowerShell.
