:dumpster_fire: Insights 2024

Anybody going to insights and works for a company that is primarily a distributor? I’d love to connect and share ideas about the unique challenges of using Kinetic for distribution . . .

Unlike Microsoft Build/Ignite, GitHub Universe, AWS re:Invent, Google IO, Apple WWDC, etc., which are designed to get as much information out to users and developers as possible, ERP companies like Infor, SAP, Epicor, etc. use these conferences as marketing events for the company and their partners and not for the users’ benefit.

If we miss too many sessions because of scheduling, what is the incentive to go? :person_shrugging: At least allow customer-led presentations to be recorded. Maybe Epiusers and the EUG could do their own on-line customer led presentations and distribute them on YouTube.

I have another one on Thursday for the quick ship panel, but not sure they listed the participants.

Me.

Hi Jim! Somehow I missed you last year, will not make the same mistake again

I would be happy to show you how NTS uses Epicor for distribution.

It is extremely customized. Customized to the point that, when I came to work for NTS 3 years ago, co-workers would ask me how to do this or that in Epicor, I would respond, “I can tell you how to do that in Epicor, but I haven’t been here long enough to figure out how to do that here.”

Don’t they usually upload all the decks in the app for everyone? I know its not the same as being there live.

They say that, but I couldn’t find them last year.

Well now I did, last year is there.

Well mine isn’t… I guess it wasn’t marketing friendly

Don’t be surprised if I just follow you around from session to session.

might be easier on my brain that way…

That’s gonna be a problem, I was planning on following you around from session to session.

On a serious note, that’s kind of what we did last year.

I’d ask @MikeGross , or @utaylor , or @gpayne where they thought they might be going, and vice versa, then we’d go where it sounded most interesting.

Someone usually had a clue.

I need someone to get in trouble with me in the back of the class anyway.

This sounds fun.
