While researching a simular situation, I was told that if you
purchase license seats for Mircosoft's current products, the
licenses *are* backwards compatible. In other words, 10 new
licenses of Office 2000 *can* be used for users using Office 97.
Check with your Microsoft resaler to be sure, though.
