I feel like I am asking a very easy question, but I cannot find the answer anywhere.
I would like to have an automatic number as the pack slip in the PO Receipt, just like the job numbering works.
Is it possible?
It is possible, but I have to ask why you would want that. Does your accounting department not want to do 3 way match?
We are already using a sequential number, but coming from a manual list outside. This number is used in some of our reports so it would be useful to keep using it. It would be much easier to have the system assigning the sequence avoiding human error. Hopefully this clarifies enough
@jkane proposes a solution where you use a BPM to generate the number for you. This is your best bet.
