Report Fonts - Which machines need them?

If I have a SSRS based report (built-in or BAQ) that uses a special font, which machines need to have the font installed?

App Server, SQL Server, Client Machine, Terminal Server for people using TS?

And does this depend on whether the report is being printed, or just previewed?

If previewed (as a PDF) and the PDF is saved, is the graphical representation of the font maintained?

If it was a Crystal Reports based report, would that have any bearing?

FWIW - I’m trying to use a code39 barcode font that is built-in to the O/S. I’m aware of the need for an asterisk to prefix and suffix the text in code39 font.

I have the desired font installed on: the DB server, App Server, and the client (my desktop)

In SSRS Report Builder, the barcode font appears when previewing in non-Print Layout

But not in Print Layout

Exporting to a PDF yeilds a PDF with human readable text, not the code 39 font.

Actually previewing the report through E10 yields regular text in the rendered.

Did you find a fix for this?

This might have been it …

I saw that, but the process of “Install for all users” doesn’t exist in Windows 2019. I’m searching for a solution now.

Sorry. I really don’t recall.

Thanks any. I found that if you copy the font file away from the Font folder, then you can do an “Install for all”. Wow.
