I can access our system via my home desktop pc running linux now?
Yes! +1000. Or from a phone.
And I have not had to go to a single machine to update a client in 17 months!
It’s approximately eleventy times easier for my users to find random things using Kinetic landing pages! Even better, it’s in ways that get them thinking about how the system works instead of following a cryptid this-then-that checklist no one can seem to find when you ask to see it.
The trouble is that landing pages are always loaded, updated, and rendered even after drilling down to row detail. They’re just hidden in HTML, silently doing all that heavy lifting for no benefit. The cheapest way to improve the performance of a feature is to delete it.
Working in the browser is the best thing I’ve seen happen to Epicor. Not just because . For one, it’s allowed me to start baking direct hyperlinks in to external reporting and integrations.
I move the search box up to it’s own panel card, and then set the landing page grid panel card to start collapsed. This stopped the big landing page loading time suck…
100% Same as I always told my clients, it’s a converge process of what you had and what you get in terms of process and appearance, and the sonnr you embrace it the less painful it will be…
Looked at kinetic the first time - didn’t like it, full stop!
Started the transition (well doing an evaluation currently) - started making sense
Now getting into the like/don’t like phase on a more objective level.
For now I’m still glad we’re on premise as I would already have my pants full considering we’re pushed out of classic next year, so I feel for all you cloudies
And as always, the choice I didn’t have as consultant (E9 PTSD), don’t touch a new Epicor product for 2 years, not even with a stick and gloves… glad I followed that rule of mine.
Summary: Kinetic has real potential, love the perfomance and the click and pray levels seem to be decreasing.
Don’t wanna even think what adaption would be without you folks on this page, THANK YOU EVERY DAY!!!
I know that feeling. Sometimes it’s just time to
