Let me unburden you of that concern. Suppressing an error message is not a valid fix. It leads to silent failures that would exhibit the behaviour that you are describing. That is something that we frown upon here at Epicor. Not only would it lead to a bad experience for our customers, it makes it very difficult for support and dev to diagnose an issue.
No such thing was done for this fix. We found the cause of the error and fixed it. We also fixed the fact that the message was unhelpful (Cancelling from .ctor). When it does happen again due to some other valid cause, it will have meaningful text.
