The IRS will no longer forward 1099 information to the states, so you are required to electronically file 1099’s not only for the Federal government but also all the states.
We are in the process of upgrading but won’t get there in time to use the patch that Epicor provides.
Is anyone using a 3rd party software package to print and electronically file the forms? We used Sovos in the past and have some issues with them.
Back in January I received this email…does this help to answer your question?
Action Recommended: New Version of the 1099-NEC Form
The United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has updated their requirements for the 1099 forms related to Non-Employee Compensation. Epicor Development has completed the changes to the printed and electronic forms in the active versions of our software. Epicor is offering an enhancement to address these changes for customers on Sustaining Support that have not purchased Extended or Pro Support, or approved versions of the product.
Your Impact Due to the broad impact of the enhancement, Epicor is making an exception to the Epicor Lifecycle Policy by providing a retroactive update for customers on ERP versions 10.2.300 and older (Sustaining Support versions). Customers on Sustaining versions that have purchased Extended or Epicor Pro Support will receive a complimentary enhancement if they are on the latest release. Select versions on Sustaining Support can receive the enhancement for a fee. Any customer (Active or Sustaining) not on the latest update of their version will either need to complete the update or pay additional fees to receive the enhancement.
The updated 1099 forms are available for versions currently in Active Support:

Now the 1099-MISC, I don’t know?..it just spells out the 1099-NEC specifically. I started looking into it but we decided to complete them a different way this year (can’t remember what our Finance Dept did\used exactly) and we are planning to upgrade before this comes back around. I would check with your CAM…(sorry I can’t help answer that)
No, I’m sorry, I do not have a case number. That information just came in an email and other than asking my CAM about it I didn’t open a case or anything further.
