2024.1 Help Article Summary Text

Has anyone running 2024.1 noticed that the ‘Summary’ text for each article in the Help Menu is the same? They put a header on each article talking about the Navigation Tree, and now that is displayed on every help menu item. Makes that summary text pretty useless.

I’ve submitted an Epicor Idea, because I don’t know that Epicor would consider this a ‘bug’.

That is actually not a bug, each help file starts with that to let everyone know how to switch between the old and new trees. Seriously, click on a bunch and you will see.

I know, but they should omit it somehow from that preview/summary text in the menu.

@karihagedorn see above this seems less than helpful

Ah

Thanks for the tag @josecgomez! Please do not vote on this in Aha, it is not the purpose of the platform, this technically a bug in the summary information. I have reported to our infrastructure team and we will work on a fix. The goal was to provide a banner explaining the new tree view functionality, but this should not have diluted the value of the summary in help & support panel. Thank you @andrew.johnson reporting!

Hi All - Just confirming that this fix has been applied so search previews will now show accurately. We elected to remove the accordion, if you have any questions about Switching between the New and Old Version of the Navigation Tree, please review the Help Article in the Getting Started section. Thank you!

Thank you @karihagedorn for the quick fix! I opened the help menu earlier this morning and found that it was already fixed
