5.0/5.1 Client install

Sorry, guys. I tried installing the netsetup/Progress client. It actually
seems to be a faster install, but it still installs all the "junk" - mainly
stuff that I don't want my users to have/see/use.

Good point Wayne. Maybe next setup I'll try running the Progress\netsetup
deal first, then Vantage second. I agree about installing MS's most
security prone components. I even grumble about applications, Vantage or
not, that require a certain version of IE to be installed. I won't open
that can of worms so early on a Monday morning though :-)

Has anyone figured out a procedure for installing either the 5.0 or 5.1
client (5.1 preferrably) without having MMC and Virtual Machine installed?
All my machines so far have been windows 98 with IE6. I'm one that feels if
it isn't needed then I don't want to install it.

Thanks,
Rick

Yeah, that's really annoying. Besides the extra time required to install
each client, you're stuck with some of MS's most security trouble prone
products.

I don't know how to do this myself. But maybe it's possible to install the
Progress client separately, without the extra baggage.. Then run the
Vantage install, and just skip the "install client software" portion.

Might be that PSC really wants it that way, or maybe just extra junk Epicor
wrote into the install routine.
