That's not just a 5.2 question. The answer, to the best of my knowledge,
is that it doesn't reduce the job or reassess the requirement. That's one
of the reasons we've been unable to fully implement the Quality module...too
many work arounds to achieve the end. As it happens I just spoke with
Epicor about that yesterday. I'd be happy to join in a class action
request!

When parts are rejected at the operation level, they are sent to
Inspection processing for review. When they get rejected at this level
they are sent to DMR Processing. Now we reject the parts - they are
scrap.

Question: WHY DOESN'T THE ORIGINAL JOB# REDUCE BY THE AMOUNT SCRAPPED?
AND HOW DOES THE SYSTEM KNOW THAT YOU MAY NEED TO PRODUCE MORE PARTS TO
REPLACE THE SCRAPPED PCS.

If you make 10 and scrap 2 its pretty clear your short but when you make
50,000 and add 5% scrap to the first operation producing 52,500 then declare
1250 as scrap also noting that quantities are weight counting on a scale
giving some variance your making a human judgment call.

If you want to take the cost of the scrap out of the job and expense it when
it is rejected, go to Company Maintenance, Module Configuration, Quality
Assurance then check the "Move Costs to DMR" box. We used to expense the
scrap as soon as it was rejected, then management decided that they wanted
to leave the costs in the job because scrap is part of the cost of the job.
