[6.10] Changing Part Rev on Order Line Deletes Details

Revision control is pretty important for many manufacturers. Vantage does not really handle it all that well relative to ISO or QS standards. We always created a new order line when the rev level changed. Often, two rev levels were active at the same time as we built out the old revision before starting to ship the new rev and there could also be a price difference. If you use price lists, add the new rev to the price list first. I'd also recommend a frequently run watchdog report that looked for order lines with no price.

We have been on 6.1 for about that length of time and this has always been a
problem for us when changing rev levels on a sales order. We have huge
blanket sales orders which stay open for at least a year if not more with
many lines that we do have to change rev levels on. It is a huge problem
when we change a rev level and the price is not put back in, a packing slip
is then created which in turn creates the invoice for a zero dollar amount -
not lean in all of the people that have to then fix everything. If there is
a SC opened, please let me know also.

This may be an old and long known about issue but it was just brought to my
attention that when the rev level on a part on an existing order line is
changed most of the details for the line, including the price, get wiped
out.....AFTER clicking OK on the line screen. So the changes are not
noticed. Fortunately someone caught that the line unit price had been
changed to zero. After 8+ years on Vantage and three or so on 6.10 we've
never noticed this but our sales engineers are telling me it is reproducable
and they are very concerned about it.

Anyone else ever see this and know if it has been reported to Epicor? Is the
an SCR we can add on to? Not that there is a lot of chance it would be fixed
in 6.10.543. We're hoping it has been fixed already for 8.x versions.

Thanks,
