[8.x] Customer Connect Users?

My $.02 is that it is not worth the time to work with it.

It does provide an alternative to not being able to allow customers to access their own info. However, it is limited, and short-sighted development-wise in my opinion.

For our business model, we do not accept po's from customers. Last I checked, CC does not process credit cards.

The categorization of parts out of the box is weak. Things are grouped into the single product-group, with no provisions for more complex relationship between the parts.

Was also disappointed to see that when a customer "places an order" through CC, they are not given an immediate order number. They are given a generic message about being sent an email with the order number at a later time.

That does not provide a very good image when compared to what most customers expect from a storefront.

This is just a very quick illustration of product limitations.

So, consider what you want to do with it. If you are trying to create a portal for users to be able to look up invoices, etc...it does work, but in a clunky interface.

If you want it to function as a backbone to a legit storefront, make sure you consider what you think that really means, and then ask for these functions to be demonstrated step-by-step for you.

These are not specifically what you asked about, but I wanted to just convey to you the importance of really knowing what you are expecting from the product and your needs in general.

We are considering the customer connect module.

Before I get a demo from Epicor, I have a few questions:

Has anyone had success with this module? (Sales improved?)

Have you modified the web pages?

Can you display certain parts to certain customers and not to others?

Thanks,
