Thank you - that would be a great solution.  In your case were you able to put the labor notes field directly onto the End Activity screen?

I just discovered we are having a problem with our job operations not always updating from the MES labor entries, due to an updateable dashboard.

We have several updateable dashboards for the guys to use to update job operation information.  We are having a problem if they have this updateable dashboard open and make any transactions to the job operation thru MES, but then update the operation on the dashboard and click save, it will not also save the updates made thru MES - meaning the hours, costs, etc do not get onto the job. (hopefully I explained that well enough -- i.e. the change log shows the MES update and then shows it all backed out when the update to the updateable dashboard is made).Â

I tested this and if they instead refresh the dashboard prior to making changes, or open it New then we do not have this problem and the MES changes save as do the operation updates.Â

Can anyone think of a way I can fix this problem going forward to maybe force a refresh? I am really at a loss as to how to correct this to prevent it from keep occurring. Any advice or help at all would be so greatly appreciated.

You can set a dashboard to auto refresh every 5 minutes or so.

Thank you for the reply. I don't think 5 min would do the trick. Looking at some of the change logs -> from the MES entry updating the joboper to when it was backed out was less than a minute apart. I think maybe they have the updateable dashboard open, are logging on thru MES and then update that same operation on the dashboard and then saving which overrides the MES. The only fields that are "updateable" in the dashboard are the user fields (user character fields on joboper table).

It would help if you added the fields to the MES screens as customizations. I currently update the LaborDtl.Notes field this way with a drop down box linked to the Epicor Utilities \ USER CODES.
