A couple of questions about credit card processing

We have the credit card module and are working to enable it in our processes now.
If we do an authorize and deposit at the time of order, and then we ship the order (all in the test company) everything seems to work. Of course, this does not allow for the addition of the freight charges, and may cause a problem if there is a delay between order entry and shipping.

It apparently does work if we process it as a "sale" transaction during the order as well.

However, if we authorize the card and then run shipping, the when we mark the pack as "shipped" we get a credit card processing error.

Can anyone provide details about
1) the differences and specifications between authorize, deposit, and sale during order entry
2) whether anyone has had any luck getting the charge to actually go through at the time of shipment.

In Opportunity/Quote Entry application after creating a quote I am not
able to get details for that particular part even though methods of
manufacturing is assigned to an ECO group and has been approved.

Application prompts an error saying "A valid Source Method is
required". Any ideas to get it done?

Sounds like the part is still checked out into an ECO group, Check it in
first.
