A/R finance charges

We are on 6.1
Have been promised that AR finance charge would finally work with this version....
It still does not work.

Seems it would make sense on the Customer Record
to remove the spot where we check for "Financial Charges".
At least then we would not have the expectation that this function would work.

This is the first time I've posted a problem. I sure hope the group
can help me. I've tried searching the archives, but that isn't
easy. My question is actually in two parts. First, I have my
customers set up for finance charges, but when I print statements, no
charges show up. What did I forget?? Second, how can I get these
finance charges to generate an invoice?? As any A/P person will tell
you, you don't pay from statements. If you want someone to pay those
charges, you have to have an invoice. We are on Vantage 5.0.

As far as I know, there is not a program that automatically generates
finance charges. We have a report builder report that calculates the
finance charges, then we manually enter the invoice. We enter "finance
charges" as the customer PO when we enter the invoice and so that we can
skip these charges (through a filter) when we run the report builder report.

We are on 5.2. The Help menu for the finance charge field says that the
finance charge processing is set for a future release. Don't know if it has
been released yet.
