ABC Codes - leave out non-stock

Is there a way to leave out the non-stock parts when calculating ABC codes?

This doesn’t make sense. Why would you want to calculate abc code for not stock parts in the first place. I would have thought that if you had non-stock on and qty bearing off on the part it would not be included. I have not tested this so just hypothesising.

Looking at the help it also mentions the part/warehouse/cycle count settings on the part for Manual ABC Code could perhaps alter the behaviour.

My suggestion is try a few of these scenarios and do the calculate and see if the part appears or not. Failing that then you would be checking with support, logging and idea, then making a customisation until the idea gets traction enough to make it into product.

Anyone out there using ABC codes on a regular basis, please let us know. I am curious, but not that curious to dig into it in detail quite yet.

I don’t want to calculate ABC codes for non-stock parts. I was asking if there was a way to keep them out of the calculation which it did not in my case. We have some parts that are marked non-stock but still have qty bearing on because we still purchase them on a PO to keep records, but do not want them received into on hand stock capturing on hand cost.

I was meaning why would Epicor do that, I hope that clarifies my previous post.

I think your parts are not setup correctly. Here’s what the help says for qty Bearing.

Here’s what it says about Non-Stock

You can still Purchase a non Qty bearing part, but it will come under the “Other” part type which also gives you the ability to edit the GL account in the release (or not).

If modifying the part setups don’t resolve this issue then refer to paragraph three of the previous post.

EDIT, sorry about the crappy screen shots.

Thanks Simon. Yes I believe our parts are set up incorrectly. That was all done before I came on board about 3 years ago. It has taken me a lot of time cleaning up other issues that have been created. Challenging to say the least. But we will get there! Thanks for the info and I will look into this!

Your welcome. Have a great day.
