I have several remote users who use the Win XP built in Remote Desktop Client (START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/COMMUNICATIONS) to connect to our Win 2000 and Win 2003 Terminal Servers. The key is that you have the exact drivers installed on the Terminal Server that the client uses. There are also some additional tabs on the client that appear when you click the OPTIONS button, one of the tabs includes a checkbox to maps printers. Make sure that is checked. Feel free to contact me offline if you need additional assistance.

Subject: [Vantage] Adding a printer to Terminal Server for a VPN user
We are going Live 2/1 and we have remote sales people who use VPN to
access our network. They then need to log onto Vantage using Terminal
Server. Everything works great but we cannot add a local printer from
the user's home office to the TS. I know there must be a way but cannot
remember. Does anyone else use this feature and if so, how did you add a
local printer to TS from a remote site???? Of course, we have plenty of
network printers on TS for internal network users, but that doesn't help
the remote user.
Thank you,
Sue
