Currently when we transfer Parts we have to transfer a part to a bin that has been assigned to the part. But we have over 5000 bins and the parts are always changing bins that they are located in. Is the only way to make this work is if we upload 5000 bins to every single part. Or is there a way to bypass this rule and just transfer a part into a BIN and then the Bin gets added to the part?
The Bin that is added to a part is more for planning and other controls. We have not assigned any bins to a part, and everything works fine.
Full disclosure, we don’t do anything fancy like S/N or Lot control, or kanban. So maybe we don’t run into the cases where the part must have bin(s) pre-assigned to it.
