Admin Tools Docs

No, but we know those sections pretty well.
Â
Main Menu
Maintain session allows you to remove a user from his/her session. This is usefull when Users try to log on and Vantage says they are already logged on. You can then disconect the userfrom the menu. This is useful if you have setup each user to have only one session or before you restart the server making sure every one has logged out.
Â
MES Menu
This is for all of the staions you have setup in your shop that use MES. Here also you can disconnect users from their sessions.
Â
Configure License
Kind of a touchy area. This is where you Configure your licenses. This is generally done when installing Vantage. I can think of nothing else usefull about this page except you can see your serial number. I would keep a safe distance untill you are more familiar.

Anyone know if Epicor has any docs buried on their website for the
Admin Tools? I'm specifically looking to learn all about "Maintain
Sessions" and "License Inquiry".

Thanks,

You'll find a file called "AdminWorkbench.pdf" in your Vantage
mfgsys803\Help directory. I think the installer puts it there. It
tells you about the Admin tool.

There really isn't much to those "tools"

Maintain Sessions is just a place where you can remove an orphaned or
duplicate session which is adversely affecting your logins due to running
out of how many licensed sessions you have purchased.

License Inquiry is just a place to view your current license usage, to see
how many users are logged on at a time, what kind of licenses they are
using, and what kind of licenses are still available. I think this tool is
most helpful for determining if you need to actually purchase more licenses,
or possibly just need to alter the time out for current user licenses.

Thanks Ned and Brian. There isn't much in that PDF, just general
information.

Just F.Y.I., I'm writing a How-To for the Accountants to Remote
Desktop to the server to see who is logged in before they start
their end-of-month procedures and I wanted to make sure I wasn't
giving them bad dope.
