Normally I don’t come here to complain but good god.
This is in our Pilot system. We aren’t live yet.
Yesterday, I was testing a Method Directive, and when it didn’t fire, I went to open it to take a look at it. I noticed the landing page of the directives app displayed no results, as did any searches. I did a bit of troubleshooting, like searching in the classic dashboards before submitting a ticket.
A screenshot showing exactly 0 directives, telling me they can see the directives.
Panic is setting in, as our go live date is approaching, so it may be causing me to overreact a bit here, but this seems like a huge problem and this person is pissing down my back and telling me its raining.
I am showing this because this returns one result. This is a BPM I created with support yesterday afternoon when they were helping me uplift something. The support person I was working with mentioned they weren’t at all familiar with this issue, and even consulted with a colleague or two while we were on the call. He even did some light troubleshooting with me like checking my user account permissions to make sure it wasn’t a security/access thing. He found it odd that they were missing and that I was able to create a new BPM.
Eek! We’re SaaS and we did not loose our BPMs either so not sure what happened. Perhaps ask for them to restore again from Production and upgrade again?
From what version are you upgrading?
Did you run all the conversions (during and post upgrade)?
Check to see if any of the Conversions in the Conversion Workbench show errors.
At least you still have your production ones so you can.
If I was on cloud I would be terrified of what will happen when they upgrade LIVE though, do they know what caused the problem in your instance (and how to prevent it going forward) or is this sort of a lottery where you won’t know if you’ve won until they do the LIVE upgrade??
I do have my production BPMs, but they are in a different state than the BPMs that lived in the pilot cloud environment. Since uploading/upgrading the database, myself, and also epicor support personnel have deleted/created/modified these BPMs as needed to make them work coming from 10.2.400 to 2025.1
I am presuming if this is the ‘solution’ all of this work will need to be redone.
Like, why did I move to cloud in the first place, isn’t there backups of my environments there?
e: also my confidence in support in being able to tell me what happened is 0.
So you’re sure they are really gone? That’s horrible. Non prod environments are backed up but only once a week. This is why we need better options for backing up and managing our custom work.
This happened to me a while back and it was the ‘Replace Existing Group’ option from the Directive Import screen. I was moving a small BPM from pilot to live and I checked this option - turned out it replaced my entire BPM group! Doesn’t help much, I know, but maybe helps to identify what happened.
