Alternate Method - Updating primary method

I've seen it on v8.03.409a progess.

It appears to occur when you create an alternate and copy the details from the existing primary of the same Rev (& perhaps vice-versa: Been a while since I dealt with it.)

The copied OPs/details act is if they were 'common ops' which is in fact a 'feature' on other systems I've used but I've never found it to be claimed as such in v8.

If you create the details from scratch, editing one doesn't affect the other OR if you create a temp rev, copy to that & edit & then copy it to your alt it doesn't happen.

Would be nice to know the underlying issue (BO method quirk? Db issue? Odd combo of both? ) as it COULD be a 'feature' to take advantage of at times if it could then be controlled.

We are on version 9.05.607B. Our engineering group is reporting that when they have a primary method, along with an alternate method, and they revise the primary method, that the changes are inherited to the alternate method automatically. Has anyone else seen this behavior? Any ideas on why this would be desired??

yes, I have seen it at a client a while ago, forget if it was a "feature" in that they are helping you or a bug.
