AP Automation

We are looking into AP Automation to move toward a paperless solution for AP. We have currently looked into Stampli and have reached out to our Epicor rep to get information on Epicor’s DocStar system. Can anyone give me some feedback on your experience with either of these platforms?

Take a look at PRISM

If you want scanning of documents and the data to be put through Epicor automatically then this is a cheap easy system with an excellent team behind it.

Supports for REST calls and SQL lookup and update if you want to go down that route. The other options are Workato (Automation Studio)

Depending on your budget and level of automation desired, you might have couple of options

We’ve been using ECM and IDC for a couple of years now, and I know quite a number of others who are too. With just a little bit of foreknowledge about implementation, you can get it up and running quite smoothly. Tailoring the workflow for your specific flavor of AP processing can take some consulting time, or you can have them teach you about editing workflows and own it yourself (this is my suggestion because you’ll want to start making other workflows for stuff soon after).

ECM/Docstar has great connections with Kinetic, has API capabilities (in and out), is web based already, has a great feature set including very granular security. We really like it, and we do HR, AP, Receiving and Job Traveler paperwork, internal forms in an approval workflow, and corporate docs that get attached to customer forms like Pack Slip and Order & Invoice (Terms and Conditions, etc.) using Advanced Print Routing inside Kinetic.

Do you have some specific questions?

@KMeach We started looking at Concur, but went with DocStar/ECM. It has been good and last year we got Sales Order automation. As @MikeGross says it also gives you a toolset to do other Epicor interactions and workflows. I don’t do all of the AP or SO processing in ECM some of it is easier in a bpm, so I update the records and send them back to the ECM workflow.

I wrote the integration for traildsoftware.com into Epicor.

It’s a great solution we use it in the manufacuting business I work for and they have lot of Epicor clients which use it.
