Application Studio: Add a Panel Card inside a Panel Card Stack

Good Morning,

Goal: Move a panel card inside a panel card stack

I am uplifting a classic dashboard to Kinetic. The Classic dashboard has multiple tabs and each tab has a tracker and a grid.

For the uplift to Kinetic, the multiple tabs on classic have turned into a Panel Card Stack in Kinetic. Inside the stack, there is a panel card grid. All those pieces are fine. I have added the tracker, inside a panel card, and use the Where List to limit the returned data in the grid. This is working.

But I can’t move the tracker to appear inside the tab on the stack.

I can’t add anything to the lower area of the stack. I have tried to add a group, column, text box, and nothing can be added. The only place that I am able to add anything is inside the small box near the grid title. When I do add the tracker inside this area it is very small and hard to read.

How do I move the panel card to be inside the stack?

Thank you for the assistance,
Heide Warren

Click on the stack properties. It lets you check off additional cards to include in the stack. I think if you want two different grids to be on one tab within the stack you would first have to create a panel card containing both other panel cards and then put the parent panel card in the stack.

Yeah, my assumption is that when the dashboard was uplifted, it created a panel-card-grid for you.

You can add a panel-card-grid into a panel-card… but you cannot add a panel-card into a panel-card-grid.

So, you may have to do some gymnastics here and hope nothing breaks… but if you start with a panel card, add a column, then you MAY be able to copy/paste the existing panel-card-grid into that column. Or, if you’re on the same form, you may be able to simply drag it over and drop it in.

Then you may be able to drag your other panel-card (tracker) and drop it in below it (if that was the plan).

Thank you for the response.
If I go to Panel Card Stack properties and check the panel to include, it places it as another tab in the stack.

I would like to have a grid and a panel card inside the parent card of the stack.

With your idea, it jogged my mind to try to back into the solution. I am starting with the Tracker Tab in the stack which is a “created from scratch” panel. I was able to add a panel grid card to the bottom of it. Then I tried to copy the original grid on the first tab into my new blank grid. The copy and paste would not work. I think it has something to do with how Epicor is auto building the Kinetic dashboard from a classic dashboard. The auto built grid will not come into the stack below the tracker.

This is the way.
I’m currently working on a dashboard that does this very thing.

It can be finicky. Try adding a Column control to the panel with your tracker, then drag the native grid into the Column Control.

You are a magician. That is the fix. As you suggested, I added the column control. Then I copied and pasted the grid into the column. It worked!

That will save me hours and hours of work. Thank you so much!!!
