Approvals for Transfer Orders or Draft State for new TO

Hello,

Is there a way to have either of the following:

  1. Approval process on transfer orders similar to Purchase Orders
  2. A draft state for new transfer orders.

The issue is that the transfer orders are live in the system the moment they are created.

Currently, there is a distrust regarding the accuracy of TO demand in the system.

Transfer Orders are only considered live when a branch emails the PDF transfer order. However, all of the demand that may or may not be legit makes planning difficult.

Additionally, we are wanting to use Fulfillment Workbench to streamline the Transfer Order fulfillment process.

We are aware that this maybe an issue with internal processes where we should only create a TO once we are 110% confident on parts/qty.

I am curious how others handle this process. Please let me know your thoughts on different ways to approach this.

Thanks in advance !

Why is there a distrust? If your data is wrong, it needs to be fixed before any automated process will work properly.

If the data is correct but not trusted, that is a wholly different issue which software alone can’t fix.

Yup…the replenishment parameters (min/max/safetystock/etc) has to be accurate regardless of process - automated, manual-based-on-a-report or otherwise. Once the data accuracy is proven, the trust will follow. The short version: garbage in, garbage out.
